Elon Musk's Campaigning Tour in Pennsylvania
Business magnate Elon Musk is set to tour Pennsylvania until Monday in support of former President Donald Trump. During this tour, he will be delivering a series of talks to voters across the state.
Musk stated on Wednesday that he will be giving these talks from tomorrow night through Monday. He clarified that anyone interested in attending the talks must have signed a petition supporting free speech and the right to bear arms, and must have voted in the election. He further specified that attendees must have voted in Pennsylvania.
Registration Deadline and Musk's Donation to PAC
It's important to note that the deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, is October 21.
In addition, Musk has made a significant contribution to his America PAC, donating nearly $75 million. According to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), Musk was the sole donor of $74,950,020.
America PAC's Goals and Mission Statement
The PAC has set a goal to get 1 million voters in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments by October 21.
America PAC was launched by Musk back in May. At the time of its launch, Musk stated that the PAC was created to support candidates who believe in the core values of America. According to its mission statement, America PAC supports six key values: secure borders, sensible spending, safe cities, a fair justice system, self-protection, and free speech.
Super PAC's Spending and Donations
Since its creation, the super PAC has become the seventh-largest outside spender during the 2024 election cycle, spending a total of $106,031,817, as per OpenSecrets' tally.
In comparison, the pro-Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc, has spent $253,970,695 this election cycle, while the pro-Harris super PAC, Fast Forward USA, has spent $263,417,307, according to the non-profit organization.
Earlier filings from September reveal that America PAC received millions of dollars in donations from several sources, including Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale’s Lonsdale Enterprises, venture capitalist Doug Leone, and Sequoia Capital partners Shaun Maguire, among others.
