Is Biden's Presidency Leading to a Deceptive Election?
Biden's Potemkin Presidency
President Biden has been criticized for being a Potemkin president, a figurehead in a government that is not truly under his control. After a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump, Biden was forced to withdraw from the presidential race. This has led to questions about whether a deceptive presidency is leading to a deceptive election.
Media Secrecy and the 2024 Campaign
Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race did not bring about an era of transparency. The media continues to tolerate widespread secrecy on key issues of the 2024 campaign. In the past, elections were about self-government. Today, voters merely play a minor role in validating the nearly unlimited power of the government.
Government Cover-ups and Deception
Each week, new cover-ups designed to deceive Americans about the extent of their misgovernance are revealed. The Biden administration has largely managed to hide the crime wave by illegal immigrants who have entered the country since 2021. The National Archives has announced that it will delay the release of potentially damaging records on Vice President Joe Biden’s dealings with his son and foreign business partners until after the election.
Political Convenience and Censorship
Political convenience seems to be the primary determinant of what Americans are allowed to know. After Biden dropped his re-election bid, the administration disclosed records showing that his son Hunter sought U.S. government handouts for Burisma when Joe Biden was Vice President. This scandal was kept under wraps until Joe Biden was no longer politically relevant.
Media Complicity and the Power Behind the Throne
The media's willingness to cover up Biden's mental incapacity has effectively endorsed secret rule. Major news organizations like the New York Times, Washington Post, or National Public Radio have made little effort to reveal who is truly wielding power. This issue is ignored because exposing it could derail Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.
Implications for Self-Government
As long as the Biden administration manages to keep its worst offenses under wraps until Election Day, Democrats may secure another four years to abuse the Constitution, the law, and the American people. Unfortunately, self-government is not retroactive.
Bottom Line
The current political climate raises important questions about the nature of self-government and the role of the media in maintaining transparency. If the government and the media are complicit in deceiving the public, can we truly say we have a functioning democracy? What are your thoughts on this matter?
