Unmasking Prop One: The Trojan Horse Amendment - Why New Yorkers Should Be Concerned

Prop One: Unveiling the Trojan Horse
Unraveling the Proposal
Last week, I had a conversation with the New York Post about a critical matter, a proposed amendment to our Constitution in New York, known as "Proposal Number One" or "Prop One". This proposal, while being a New York ballot initiative, could have far-reaching consequences that could impact the entire nation if it is passed. It's crucial to understand that if we don't halt this proposal now, it could soon become a reality in other states.
Why Should We Be Concerned?
There are two reasons why we should be wary of Prop One. Firstly, historically, New York has been a breeding ground for radical policies that later spread across the country. Secondly, this proposal is a Trojan Horse, a deceptive tactic used to hide the true nature of the proposal. The left is presenting this proposal as something it's not, using complex language to mask its true meaning. The Archdiocese in New York and the Catholic Conference, including Cardinal Dolan, have criticized this proposal, labeling it as a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The Origins of Prop One
The same radical politicians who have given us controversial policies like No-Cash-Bail, Clean Slate, Raise the Age, and Congestion Pricing are behind Prop One. They are marketing Prop One as an "Equal Rights Amendment" that will safeguard abortion in New York. However, these words don't appear on the ballot. At first glance, the proposal appears fair and just, but in reality, it won't provide any new "equal rights" as all the categories mentioned are already protected under our New York State laws. Instead, it will undermine your rights and give more power to the radical politicians who govern us.
Understanding the Language of Prop One
The language of Prop One that you will see on your ballot is as follows:
Amendment to Protect Against Unequal Treatment
This proposal would protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, and pregnancy. It also protects against unequal treatment based on reproductive healthcare and autonomy.
Concurrent Resolution of the Senate and Assembly
The proposed change to our Constitution reads as follows:
Section 1
No person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws of this state or any subdivision thereof. No person shall, because of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, creed, religion, or sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive healthcare and autonomy, be subjected to any discrimination in their civil rights by any other person or by any firm, corporation, or institution, or by the state or any agency or subdivision of the state, pursuant to law.
Section 2
Nothing in this section shall invalidate or prevent the adoption of any law, regulation, program, or practice that is designed to prevent or dismantle discrimination on the basis of a characteristic listed in this section, nor shall any characteristic listed in this section be interpreted to interfere with, limit, or deny the civil rights of any person based upon any other characteristic identified in this section.
The Real Impact of Prop One
While the proposal may sound appealing, it's far from it. If passed, Prop One could cause significant upheaval in our society. It could lead to the erosion of parental rights, make New York a permanent sanctuary state for illegal immigrants, allow non-citizens to claim a constitutional right to receive taxpayer-funded benefits, abolish single-sex spaces, suppress free speech, and legalize reverse discrimination.
A Call to Defeat Prop One
Cartoonist Anne Gibbons has been creating insightful cartoons about Prop One, capturing the deceptive nature of this proposal. Here's one of her latest cartoons:
Bottom Line
Prop One is a Trojan Horse that could have profound implications for our society if passed. It's crucial to understand the true nature of this proposal and the far-reaching consequences it could have. What are your thoughts on this matter?
