U.S. Attorney Damian Williams and P. Diddy: A Controversial Connection
Andre Damian Williams Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, is once again under scrutiny for his handling of child sex trafficking cases. This time, the spotlight is on his supervision of a federal grand jury that did not indict Sean “Diddy” Combs on any charges related to child sex trafficking or molestation.
Williams' History with Child Trafficking Cases
Williams was appointed as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in December 2018. He was expected to oversee the trial of Jeffrey Epstein, but Epstein's death changed that. However, Williams did oversee the Ghislaine Maxwell trial, which has been criticized for its handling. Despite evidence of widespread child trafficking by Epstein and Maxwell over 25 years, federal prosecutors only indicted Maxwell on one count of child trafficking. The prosecution called only four victims as witnesses, despite knowledge of over 30 victims, and did not pursue charges against known procurers and perpetrators in the Epstein network.
Williams and the Combs Case
Williams' handling of child trafficking cases is again under scrutiny with the recent grand jury indictments against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Combs faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for purposes of prostitution. Two of the pending sexual assault lawsuits against Combs were filed by minors, but these allegations of child trafficking seem to have been overlooked by Williams and his team.
Combs' Alleged Crimes
Combs is also facing over 100 new assault allegations, according to a BBC article. Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee is representing more than 100 alleged victims of Combs, 25 of whom were minors at the time of the alleged assaults. Buzbee suggests that Combs had connections to powerful individuals, similar to Epstein. Combs is currently on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Williams' Possible Motives
As the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Williams holds a powerful position, previously occupied by future judges, senators, cabinet members, and even a New York City mayor. However, his handling of the Epstein/Maxwell and Combs cases raises questions about his motivations. Some speculate that Williams may be protecting his power, may be compromised, or may have been threatened.
Williams' Political Connections
Williams has strong political connections. He worked for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign and served as a personal aide for Terry McAuliffe, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee. McAuliffe has faced allegations of corruption, raising further questions about Williams' associations.
Additionally, Williams received significant funding from the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans for his graduate education at Yale Law School. Peter Soros, nephew of George Soros and a member of the fellowship's board, is twice circled in Epstein’s “Black Book,” suggesting a possible connection to Epstein's illicit activities.
Bottom Line
The controversy surrounding U.S. Attorney Damian Williams' handling of high-profile child trafficking cases raises serious questions about the integrity of the justice system. Is Williams truly pursuing justice for victims, or is he protecting powerful individuals from facing the consequences of their actions? These questions warrant further investigation and public discourse. What are your thoughts on this matter? Share this article with your friends and let's continue the conversation.
